State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi hosted a dinner for seven northern ethnic armed groups yesterday at the Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.
The seven groups are the United Wa State Party/Army (UWSP/UWSA), the National Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA), the Kachin Independence Organization/Kachin Independence Army (KIO/KIA), the Shan State Army/Progressive Party (SSPP/SSA), the Ta-ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) and the Arakan Army (AA). The dinner was also attended by Chairman of the Peace Commission Dr Tin Myo Win, Vice-Chairman of the commission U Thein Zaw, Leader of the adviser group to the Peace Commission U Aung Kyi, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Hong Lian and officials.
