
iIslam community in Maungtaw has urged the authorities to take punitive actions against the violent armed attackers.
A governmental mission comprising Union ministers and Rakhine State Chief Minister met with Islamic community in Maungtaw, Rakhine State yesterday, pledging to bring those who are involved in the violent armed attacks to the court.
At the meeting, Union Ministers Dr Pe Myint and U Thein Swe and Chief Minister of Rakhine State U Nyi Pu expressed their sympathy with the peoples as the local communities have anxiety for their security and livelihood due to the instability in the area.
The mission also expressed the government’s commitment to restore law and order to the areas in Maungtaw Township, pledging that the authorities have no tolerance to any form of violation of the justice and community peace.
The local Islam community also denounced the violent armed attackers, pledging their cooperation with the authorities for such kind of attacks not to happen in future.
