Opening of Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Myanmar

An opening ceremony for the Honorary Consulate-General of Mexico in Myanmar was held yesterday morning at the 5th floor of Maha Land Business Centre, No. 56 Kaba Aye Pagoda Road, Yangon.
First, U Kyaw Zeya, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador H.E. Mr. Nathan Wolf of the Embassy of Mexico based in Singapore delivered opening speeches.
Next, Ambassador H.E. Mr. Nathan Wolf and Honorary Consul-General of Mexico U Sit Taing Aung cut a ribbon to open the ceremony and U Kyaw Zeya pressed a button to unveil the consulate-general sign board.
Later in the evening, a reception to mark the opening of the Honorary Consulate-General of Mexico in Myanmar was held at Melia Yangon Hotel and Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein graced the event.
At the event Ministry of Foreign Affairs Strategic Studies and Training Department Director General Daw Kay Thi Soe, Ambassador H.E. Mr. Nathan Wolf and Honorary Consul-General of Mexico U Sit Taing Aung gave speeches.
Afterwards Ambassador H.E. Mr. Nathan Wolf presented gifts to Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, Yangon Region Hluttaw Speaker U Tin Maung Tun and Director General Daw Kay Thi Soe.
Diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Mexico was established in 1976 and Honorary Consulate-General of Mexico in Myanmar is being opened to increase bilateral and economic relations and to assist Mexican citizens visiting Myanmar. —Myanmar News Agency
