
President U Htin Kyaw and wife Daw Su Su Lwin are seen off at the Nay Pyi Taw Airport by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Vice Presidents U Myint Swe and U Henry Van Thio and Commander-in-Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
President U Htin Kyaw and wife Daw Su Su Lwin on Tuesday left Nay Pyi Taw for Hanoi, the capital of Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, to start his state visit to the Southeast Asian country.
During his visit, the President will attend the 8th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Viet Nam Summit (CLMV-8), the 7th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Co-operation Strategy Summit (ACMECS-7) and the World Economic Forum on Mekong (WEF-Mekong) in the host city of Viet Nam.
The Myanmar delegation was seen off at the airport by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, vice presidents U Myint Swe and U Henry Van Thio, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr Myo Aung, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Maj-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Deputy Minister U Maung Maung Win, chargé d’ affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Yangon Mr Nguyen Thanh Vinh and officials.
The President was accompanied by Union ministers Dr Aung Thu and U Kyaw Win, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs U Kyaw Tin and officials. The President and party arrived in Hanoi at 10.55 a.m. local standard time on Tuesday.
They were welcomed at the airport by Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Mr Phung Xuan Nha, the chargé d’ affaires a.i. of Myanmar Embassy in Viet Nam and officials.
The President, wife and party were brought to Hanoi Grand Plaza Hotel, where they will reside during their stay in Viet Nam.
