A reception to commemorate the Seventy-Second Anniversary of the United Nations Day was held in the evening of 24 October 2017 at Thingaha Hotel Grand Ballroom in Nay Pyi Taw.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Union Ministers, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Directors-General, Chairmen and members of the Hluttaw committees on International relations, Ambassadors/Heads of the Diplomatic Missions in Yangon based in Myanmar, the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator Ms. Renata Nicola Lok-Dessallien and Heads of the United Nations agencies in Yangon, Honourary Consuls, and responsible officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Renata Nicola Lok-Dessallien, United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator, delivered their remarks on the occasion, and it was followed by the video clip presentation of the United Nations activities and the cooperation between Myanmar and the United Nations.—Myanmar News Agency
