Amyotha Hluttaw Deputy Speaker inspects electrical sub-stations construction

Amyotha Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Aye Tha Aung accompanied by Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy Dr. Tun Naing and officials inspected the construction of Ponnagyun-Yathedaung-Buthidaung-Maungtaw 65.1 miles 66 KV power line and 66/11 KV, 10 MVA substations in Yathedaung, Buthidaung and Maungtaw, a project work to distribute electric power.
On arrival at 230 KV Ponnagyun main substation, the Amyotha Hluttaw Deputy Speaker and party were explained about the project implementation status by Project Director (Northern portion) U Min Naing with the Deputy Minister providing additional explanations. Amyotha Hluttaw Deputy Speaker and party then inspected the 230 KV Ponnagyun main substation switch yard.
To provide 24 hours (a day) of electricity to low development area of Yathedaung, Buthidaung and Maungtaw region in northern Rakhine State, electric power from national grid that had reached 230 KV Ponnagyun main Substation will be transmitted along 65.1 miles of Ponnagyun-Yathedaung-Buthidaung-Maungtaw 66 KV power line and Yathedaung, Buthidaung and Maungtaw 66/11 KV, 10 MVA substations. The project works were started in September 2017 and will distribute electricity to Yathedaung in March 2018, Buthidaung in June 2018 and Maungtaw in December 2018 and the entire project is estimated to cost Ks 30 billion it is learnt.
