Youth All-Round Development Festival is being held at the University of Yangon for three days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 1-3. It aims to promote physical and mental well-being of today’s youths.
At the festival, many activities related to literacy talks, arts, sports, IT and science are included while music bands are being entertained for the public.
The GNLM interviewed responsible officials and some of the artists who are joining this event.

Academy Di Ra Mo,
a musician
It is nice for me to participate in this event, and I met with many youths from different parts of our country. They can study the cultural shows, Myanmar musical instruments and entertainment at one place. It is also beneficial to us and I am very pleased to watch these respective festivals.

U Tin Soe
(Lecturer of Fine Arts)
I am assigned as the art activity and aim at amusing the youths by watching cartoons, animations, sketches and portraits. They can make them amused and happy and I am very pleased to do so.

Maung Aung Than Htay (Third Year of Fine Arts University)
The main thing is that many youths like us can be able to take part in these activities at the University campus. We are assigned as the art activity, especially the art of swing which was originally from Indian culture. In the entertainment sector, we perform the arts combined with Myanmar and Indian culture, which can enhance the friendship among our youths.

Ma Khin Win Shwe (Final Year, University of Education)
As a member of our youths, I am in charge of the education sector, and I am very glad to be able to do so. It is fun and amusing. I haven’t seen this kind of activities before. I’d like to say words of thanks to those who are responsible for this event. And I’d like to suggest to hold this kind of development festival every year so that we can show our talents and abilities because everyone has his or her own talents. Moreover their dreams can come true accordingly. Parents should not force their children to do what they want to, and should permit them the ways they desire.

Ma Thet Htar Shwe Zin (a student of Aung San Thuriya High School)
I am very interested in coming to this event which is a kind of amusing entertainment. It can give us knowledge and fun. I haven’t experienced this before, and I am determined to attend the University of Fine Arts when I pass the matric exams. This kind of festival for us should be held occasionally.
This is a festival that our young students should join it without fail. In addition to education sectors, there are many exhibitions such as drawing sketches, traditional dresses, cultural shows, picture with animations, quiz and puzzles, paintings, status, sculptures and artworks are being exhibited for a period of three days. Many students from different places come and study it.

Maung Aung Khant Wai (Final Year, University of Computer Studies)
What I’d like to tell our youths like me is that computer science plays a vital role in this IT age, and we should study it in order to keep abreast with the time. We can show our talents and shape our rosy future. It is proved that we can do it without any difficulty if we have a strong desire. Personally, this festival is worth visiting.

Ma Toe Thizar Khaing (Third Year, Dagon University)
I have a keen interest in joining this festival with my dear friends, who are different majors in my schools. I am also getting to know with other new friends and proud of being a part of it. This exhibits how to make pure and clean water which can help the people of rural areas. Moreover, there is another show how to make bricks which are mixture of plastics, and it can be built many houses built of bricks by using this technology. It is less costly and effective.

Maung Myo Myat Aung (Third Year, Botany)
I am delighted to attend this festival, and happy to meet with all my friends. We can exchange our points of view and knowledge. Our group was assigned to exhibit shellfish and butterflies to the comers. I want them to see rare species of animals.

U Tin Maung Thein (Chairman of Myanmar Human Resource Management)
I am responsible to conduct human resource management and am willing to accept new members who are mostly youths of today. I can share my knowledge for those who are really energetic and young enthusiasts. Next, I would counsel the young graduates who are ready to go to workplace, and I love meeting them. This is an event for Myanmar youths and the festival is full of activities and entertainments which are good opportunities for them. All are invited to join happily via media. Sporting events, sales and demonstration of weaving, arts and science shows are being held in front of Sagaing Hall, and Bago Hall along the Adipadi Road.
