Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Thein Swe, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye and Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu inspected Hla Pho Khaung Reception Centre which is ready to conduct repatriation and resettlement of returnees from Bangladesh.
During their tour of inspection, they were also accompanied by deputy ministers who are chairmen of committees formed to carry out receiving and resettlement of returnees.
The Union Ministers and party inspected readiness for repatriation process, the place for reception, accommodation for returnees, processes to be conducted, the status of completed construction of shelters, health care services and access to safe drinking water, access to electricity, the sufficiency of fly-proof toilets, safety measures against fire, preparation for cleaning around the camp and processes undergo afterward and officials of the camp provided necessary explanations.
The Ministers and party checked Assemble Board Houses donated by the People’s Republic of China, the status of construction of sample rural houses, opening clinics for their health care and schools.
The Ministers and officials also went to the Byinphyu border police outpost and inspected the construction of garage for storing dry rations.—MNA
