Vice President U Myint Swe, together with union ministers Dr Myint Htwe and Dr Myo Thein Gyi and deputy ministers, left Nay Pyi Taw for Khamti and inspected the Women’s Vocational Training School and the People’s Hospital yesterday.
The principal and instructors at the training school reported to the vice president on training and job opportunities.
The vice president said that people who live in border areas have fewer job opportunities than those who live in urban areas and the development gap between rural and urban areas is also caused by a lack of job opportunities.
The government is trying to provide education, health and vocational education to all parts of the country, especially vocational education for women in border areas, he added.
In conclusion, the vice president said that regional governments are also required to conduct vocational training courses like the Ministry of Border Affairs.
The vice president also inspected clothes made by trainees at the school.
Later, the vice president proceeded to the hospital and met with the medical superintendent (MS) and staff.
The MS reported to the vice president on salient points of the hospital, its expansion and supplies of medicines.
The vice president said that the staff have participated actively in the recent infectious measles outbreak, helping bring the disease under control in a short period of time and urged them to continue to do so in future.
The vice president later inspected the recent extension of the hospital. — Myanmar News Agency
