The staff of the General Administration Department are important to the success of government policies, because they perform duties at all levels, from the ward/village-tract level up to the union level, Vice President U Henry Van This said at the anniversary of GAD held at the Hotel Max in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
While the success of the policies of the government depends on nation-building and internal peace, the staff of the GAD are responsible for organising people in many different places to participate in nation-building and internal peace, the vice president added.
In conclusion, the vice president urged staff of the department to strive to become a government agency with responsibility and accountability.
After delivering the speech, the vice president presented prizes to the winners of best one-stop service offices. Union Ministers Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe and Lt-Gen Ye Aung and officials awarded prizes to winners from central institutes for civil services and management development schools.
The vice president also viewed exhibition booths of the department and posed for documentary photos with participants before enjoying the anniversary dinner of the department. — Myanmar News Agency
