Buddha images to be kept for public obeisance and the religious objects to be fixed atop the Eternal Peace Pagoda in Dakkhina Thiri Township were conveyed to Yangon yesterday as part of conveyance to regions and states for public obeisance.
Members of the Sangha recited Parittas and sprinkled scented water over the the images and religious objects at the pagoda yesterday morning before conveyed to Yangon.
The images and religious objects were conveyed to Yangon along the Yangon-Mandalay Highway and they were welcomed by the congregation led by the Chairman of the Yangon Region Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and Members of the Sangha from townships in Yangon Region. At the temporary venue near the toll gate at the entrance to Yangon, the Members of the Sangha made a consecration for the images and religious objects. Afterwards, they were conveyed to the Shwedagon Pagoda flanked by traditional ceremonial teams.
At the Shwedagon Pagoda, the images and religious objects were consecrated by the Members of the Sangha. The Buddha Images carved from marble stones and golden religious objects will be displayed at the Shwedagon Pagoda for the public obeisance from 1st to 18 April before conveying to 11 regions and states.
