Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attends installation of glass pagoda at shrine of Phaungdaw Oo Buddha Images

The ceremony to offer the installation of the glass pagoda in the prayer hall of Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda was held, yesterday morning, in the Yadana Sankyaung building of the Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda in Inle, Shan State.
Present at the ceremony were Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commander-in-Chief (Navy)Admiral Tin Aung San and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw and wife, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and their wives, Commander of Eastern Command Maj-Gen Lin Aung, invited guests and local ethnic races.
First, the Senior General offered an Emerald Bowl, flowers, water and fruits to the Buddha images of the Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda. Then the Senior General and the congregation received Five Precepts from Mai Thauk Sayadaw and listened to the Parittas recited by Members of the Sanghas.
Mai Thauk First Monastery Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maharatthaguru Bhaddanta Sumingalabivamsa expounded the sermons. The Senior General and wife, senior military officers and the commanders presented offertories to members of the Sangha.
They listened to the sermons delivered by Inle Region Innlya Monastery Dhammakatika Bahujanahitadhara Badanta Dhammawara. Then Members of the Sangha said prayers and shared merits gained. Afterwards, Members of the Sanghas led by Mai Thauk First Monastery Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maharatthaguru Bhaddanta Sumingalabivamsa opened the glass pagoda to the Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda by clicking the button. Then, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla paid respects and offered “soon” (day meal) to the Sanghas.
The donation made by the families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) for the installation of glass pagoda is 4 feet and 8 inches in diameter, three feet and five inches in height, and one inch in thickness.
Following this, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with local ethnic races and discussed the conservation of the Inle Lake as a plastic-free zone, production of natural fertilizers with the use of water hyacinth and reduction of chemical fertilizer, according to information released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services. —MNA (Translated by Win Ko Ko Aung)
