Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Win Myint clarified the measures for regional development and peace and his parliamentary experience to the representative of the Kayah State Hluttaw yesterday afternoon.
In his clarification, the speaker said that developed countries with high standards of education, health and social norms are those that have adopted democratic rules, but those that are suffering from woes of low economics, social, education and health standards are countries that have experienced dictatorships, and as a result, efforts are being made to build Myanmar into a modern and democratic union in accordance with the State Constitution.
Only when democratic rights have been put in place can the rule of law be restored, the speaker said. Meanwhile, if the rule of law has been maintained, internal peace be achieved.
The three pillars of the state — legislative, justidicial and administrative — are required to exercise their power in accordance with the existing laws to keep balance of power without interference.
He urged representatives to study the laws, rules and regulation related to the Hluttaw as questions and motions submitted at Hluttaw Sessions are necessary to support non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty.
The Hluttaw is ready to accept any motion and law if they are in the interest of the country, in accordance with international conventions signed by Myanmar and the people accept them regardless of who or which party submits them.
In conclusion, he urged the representatives to nurture magnanimity, forbearance, forgiveness, cooperation, mutual understanding and trust and to work together for the country and future generations.
The speaker also responded to questions raised by the representatives.
Later that day, the speaker inspected the site where the state Hluttaw building and housing for staff are being constructed.—Myanmar News Agency
