To mark the 69th Independence Day, an opening ceremony of the Pyinnyarahlin Free Library was held in front of the library in Ohegon village, Zidaing village-tract, Taungoo, Bago Region yesterday morning.
The one storey library, a brick and wood building 24 feet in length and 21 feet wide, was built with money donated by villagers.
Regional Hluttaw Representative U Aye Min Win and Taungoo District officer of Information and Public Relations Department Daw Khine Khine Thin delivered speeches after Regional Hluttaw Representatives U Moe Ma Kha and U Aye Min Win, and village administrator formally cut ribbons to open the library.
U Zaw Myoe, townselders U Khin Maung and U Myint Thein gave words of thinks and then presented certificates of honour of the donators. The official Independence Day falls on 4 January.—Shwe Win (Pyay)
