The third Nobel Myanmar Literary Festival will be organized at the National Theatre in Yangon from 22 to 24 January, organizers said at a press conference at the Orchid Hotel in the commercial capital yesterday.
U Maw Lin, chairman of the organizing committee, U Myo Nyunt, vice chairman of the organizing committee, committee secretaries U Kyi Win and U Win Cho,
member of the committee U Khin Maung Soe (Maung Thamanya) explained arrangements, purposes and function of the event at the press conference.
The event will feature Myanmar literature including poems, an exhibition of books that were published one hundred years ago and will be accompanied with literary talks, poetry reciting and about 140 bookstalls.
The event is jointly organized by writers, poets, editors, librarians, illustrators, cartoonists, publishers and officials and aims to promote peace in society through literation creation. Literary talks, paper reading sessions, book introductions, poem reciting, readers’ session will be held from 9 am to 5 pm and book fair will be held from 8 am to 6 pm during the event.
