Planners for the annual International Day of Democracy was held at the Joint Public Accounts Committee, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Deputy Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw U Aye Tha Aung, Deputy Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw U T Khun Myat, organizing executive committee chairman Dr. Than Win and members, work
committee members and Hluttaw officials attended the meeting.
The Hluttaw has held the International Day of Democracy annually since 2011 and intends to invite union level legislative, administrative and judicial organisations, political parties, international non-governmental organizations and ambassadors.
The ceremony will be held in Thabin Hall of the Hluttaw compound with the theme: “In defense of Democracy.”—Myanmar News Agency
