A World Bamboo Day event was held in Excel River View Hotel, Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region yesterday where Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Ohn Win and Head of Department for International Development, Myanmar, Gail Marzetti attended and delivered a speech.
Before the event, the Union Minister viewed the handmade bamboo utensils displayed in the booths by 19 companies.
A similar World Bamboo Day event was held in Forest Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Nay Pyi Taw where papers titled “Bamboo resources and sustainable development aims” and “Conserving bamboo resources in Myanmar” were read by Director Dr Than Naing Oo and Research Officer U Aung Zaw Moe of forest research department it is learnt.
