Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing went to Kachin State, Putao District, Khaunglanphu town and discussed regional development matters with local elders, ethnic nationals, departmental officials and members of the people’s militia yesterday afternoon.
First, the township administrator explained about particulars of Khaunglanphu region, status of road communication and requirements while a local elder submitted requirements for Khaunglanphu region development.
The Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief said the cooperation of the local people was required in conducting development of Khaunglanphu and that the local people must protect regional stability, peace, above ground and underground resources. As the drug problem would affect and slow down regional development, entry of drugs must be totally prevented. Town folks and elders should coordinate with departments for rice sufficiency in the region, producing of appropriate food and goods, said the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief.
Next, the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief presented ready-to-eat meals while Union Minister for Border Affair Lt-Gen Ye Aung, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air Force) General Maung Maung Kyaw, high ranking officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) presented foods such as eggs, instant noodles, MEC Tel telephone handsets and SIM cards to the people. TheTatmadaw Commander-in-Chief, wife and party then cordially greeted the local populace.
Afterwards the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief and party went to a welfare shop opened by Northern Command for people of Khaunglanphu town.
From there the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief and party went to inspect the status of constructing Magwayza-Khaunglanphu road according to news released by the Office of the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
