Senior General meets departmental personnel, local residents in Cocogyun Township

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with departmental personnel and local residents from Cocogyun Township at the Town Hall, Cocogyun Township, Yangon Region, yesterday morning.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein and high ranking officers from Commander-in-Chief (Army) Office, Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Thet Pone and officials and was welcomed by senior Tatmadaw officers from the local navy base and departmental officials upon arrival at Cocogyun Town.
Afterwards at the local navy base meeting hall, the navy base commander explained about regional information, status of conducting regional security works and works conducted for development of Cocogyun.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services then gave instructions to provide transport with Tatmadaw aircrafts and naval crafts when required and to prepare for providing assistance and supports as soon as there are natural disasters.
Next the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services met with departmental personnel and local residents of Cocogyun Township in the town hall. At the meeting the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services said development works on Cocogyun region was started on 2011 and even though some developments can be seen now, more needs to be done. It is not enough to construct basic infrastructure for regional development as local people must also have the will to develop their region.
For regional development, products from the region need to be produced and the products must be of good quality. With the aim of having a market and to create job opportunities, the regional military forces are leading, assisting and supporting the production and transport of coconut products, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services.
After his speech, the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services presented foods and books which was followed by a local elder saying words of appreciation. The Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services then gave instructions and comments to ensure proper coordination.
After the meeting the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services went to Cocogyun Town Basic Education High School where the school headmistress explained about teaching status and requirements. The Senior General then gave instructions and comments and then inspected the school library. He also met with students in the school assembly hall according to a news release issued by the Office of the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief, it is learnt. — MNA
